The Turbulent Sea

 

 

The worst trials we face as Christians,
The biggest, roughest waves,
Just move us closer to our goal
As the angry storm raves.
Those things we count our greatest loss
Can become our greatest gain;
Even sickness becomes our health
As we're strengthened through the pain.
Though we never desire a trial,
Nor welcome a spiritual test,
We know each one, though grievous at first,
Is working for our best.
And underneath the turbulent sea
Of heartache, trouble, and tears,
Our anchor holds securely
Relieving all our fears.
Then when the waters have calmed,
And the boisterous winds cease,
There is, oh, such an awareness
Of inner joy and peace.
Father, thank you for The Turbulent Sea
That brings us closer to You.
We pray we'd use the lessons learned
To glorify Christ in all we do.

 

 

"That the trial of your faith, being much more precious
than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried by fire,
might be found unto praise and honour and glory
at the appearing of Jesus Christ"
(I Pet. 1:7)
