The Truth That Frees

 

 

The Truth that sets the captive free
In spirit, soul, and mind,
Is Jesus Christ who gave His life…
Satan’s power to bind.
Risen and alive evermore,
Praise God, He is the Way—
The way to abundant life here…
And Heaven’s home someday.

That precious Truth that saves and frees
Convicts the world of sin,
Moving by His Holy Spirit…
Pricking the hearts of men.
Fetters fall off as we behold Him
High and lifted up,
All chains are broken in pieces…
As He comes in to sup.

Every soul who truly repents
Is forgiven and freed,
Turning to Him who is the Truth…
Receiving Holy Seed.
Praise God for sending Christ, His Son,
For He holds freedom’s key,
He’s King of kings and Lord of lords…
The Truth that makes us free.

“If the Son therefore shall make you free,
ye shall be free indeed.”
