The Good Life
A popular song of long ago
Was entitled “The Good Life”;
If we’d known back then what we know now,
We could have been spared much strife.
Eternal things are what matters most
And bring real satisfaction;
Yet, it’s so easy to get caught up
In a world of distraction…
And miss The Good Life.
Many think money brings happiness,
And they seek fortune and fame;
We thank God for material wealth,
But temporal things soon wane.
Found only in Christ is abundant life—
A life of true joy and peace;
And only in Him is forgiveness
That gives a bound soul release...
To live The Good Life.
Contentment within cannot be bought,
Nor can a satisfied mind;
The best things in life really are free,
And a real treasure to find.
Oh, friend, what a precious gift awaits
All who will call upon Christ—
A glorious walk with the Savior—
A new everlasting life…
Truly The Good Life.
“The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon
him,
to all that call upon him in truth.”
Jesus said: “I am come that they might have life,
and that they might have it more abundantly.”
(Ps 145:18; Jn 10:10)
